A reluctant Labor voter has today remembered why he didn't vote for the Liberal Party last election.
This comes as the Federal Opposition miss hundreds of free kicks following the Treasurer's 2026 budget, and instead tie themselves up in knots over bizarre culture wars that only exist on the fringes of social media algorithms.
Treasurer Jim Chalmers t has left Australian small business owners in a state of confusion this week, as the widely "positive" feedback on housing reforms appear to be dampened by the proposed changes to capital gains taxes across the board.
While the vast majority of Australians, including the business community, praised the government for finally biting the bullet and scaling down negative gear and CGT discounts from property assets - the decision to apply the same treatment to start-ups and small to medium businesses has left many wondering why the fuck they would even work for themselves.
The general consensus is that these changes to capital gains taxes for small businesses will strangle Australia's already lacklustre culture of entreprenueralism.
Many self-employed voters are now worried that their best path to social mobility is to just take a lifelong email job with a bloated government department and pray that the public services union can save you from A.I.
Elsewhere, the fortunate sons of Sydney's wealth transfer are screeching about new taxes for trusts and shares - however, there is far less sympathy within the broader community for this particular cohort.
Unfortunately for all of them, the only political party that might be able to help iron out some of the oversights in the 2026 Federal Budget is too busy announcing their bold plans to strip services from disabled immigrants, who they say are not Australian enough for a fair go.
Local cafe-owner Glen Buttrose (43) says this reminds him of the 2025 Federal Election.
"It's the same shit all over again" he says.
"Why in the fuck aren't they talking about the things that everyone is talking about"
"Aren't they meant to be the champions of small business. Why are we getting tied up talking about brown people again."
"Just read the fucking budget and look for the things that might make life needlessly difficult for potential Liberal voters?!"
"I couldn't give a fuck about anything that Angus Taylor or Tim Wilson has said this week. It's like they are taking the piss. What dark and creepy corner of the Sky News algorithm are these policies coming from?"
