Idiot Season Declared Open At Cahills Crossing

A popular National Park has this week officially declared it is open season again.

Rangers at Kakadu National Park made the announcement this week, revealing that the Idiot Season has begun.

The declaration comes with a specific designation for Cahills Crossing, where idiots are frequently spotted congregating.

The popular low level crossing is on the East Alligator River in Kakadu, and is famous for having a high concentration of crocs (as well as being an extremely popular destination for idiots).

While to many outsiders it seems like Idiot Season only just finished, locals says it's pretty much a 12 months a year thing now.

This comes after pictures circulated once again yesterday of people standing rather close to a big old croc moving quickly through some murky water.

That image follows a long history of tourists being spotted trying to cross raging waters or standing within reach of big crocs ready to drag them under the murky water.

A viewing platform was built for idiots to protect themselves, but most tend to get as close to the croc as possible.

Rangers have explained countless times that everyone thinks it won't be them, but inevitably it is going to be someone.

Whether it's during this season or future ones remains to be seen.

More to come.
