A local man has revealed this week that in light of recent developments from the world of cave diving has set in stone his opinion that it's not for him.
Martin O'Leary, an Irish city worker originally from the landlocked County Roscommon, spoke to The Advocate today in the queue for the D45 electric trolley bus back to Betoota Heights today.
The 38-year-old noticed a story in the local print edition of The Advocate which was tucked under our reporter's arm.
"Not for me, that stuff," he said umprompted.
Our reporter asked what he was talking about.
"That fooking cave diving. Why'd ya wanna do something like that? Yud have to be crazy, I reckon. There's perfectly good caves on land you can go and see. Why'd ya wanna go into a cave that's underwater? What's in it? What are ye looking for in there?"
"Totally crazy, that's not for me, like. Did ya see the latest? People getting lost in the caves and fooking dyin and for what? No way, not for me."
Our reporter thanked him for sharing his opinion and turned back around.
More to come.
