A few hundred Rugba Leeg tragics are preparing to lumber into a deep pit of sadness and despair today as they march towards the 2026 NRL Spoon Bowl.
Sitting at 16th and 17th on the NRL ladder, today's game of NRL between the Gold Coast Titans and the St George Illawarra Steeler Dragons is expected to be a dire display of rugby league mediocrity, hosted in the worst footy stadium in the land.
A stadium so close to the crumbling Princess Highway, that passers by can chuck a 7/11 coffee cup out the window and it lands in the in-goal, Jubilee Stadium appears to be the perfect location to host two of the most dismal teams in the competition.
Speaking to one absolute sicko from the Gold Coast, who’s flown to Sydney for the game, it’s believed fans are just hoping both teams throw all defense out the window and just chuck it around and have some fun.
“I’ve paid $550 for a return Jetstar trip, if I don’t see Keano Kini try at least two hail mary chip n’ chase tries, I’ll be really disappointed,” Burleigh property developer Jamie De Groot told our reporter.
“Also Zane Harrison has a great left foot on him, he might be good for two short range tries if the Dragons put up their signature paper bag defense.”
Meanwhile, lumbering up from Wollongong, long time St George tragic Trent Thompson has told The Advocate his passion for the Red V has been truly tested over the last few hours of commuting.
“Sunday traffic was rammed so it’s taken 90 minutes to drive to my own home game,” said Trent.
“But the kids need an outing today and there’s nothing better to do, at least I can walk over the road and try some of them roadside burger joints at halftime if the Titans have already put 30 on us.”
