“Oi What’re We Doing For Mum Tomorrow” Asks Younger Sibling

Younger siblings across the nation are experiencing that split second moment of panic that often accompanies Mothers Day eve.

They can rest assured, however, that their older sibling likely has it covered.

Betoota Heights resident Artie Haddow (23) says at this point, it's become a routine interaction of early May for himself and sister Phoebe.

“Mum said Phoebe was coming round for lunch tomorrow, and I said ‘how come’, and she said ‘for Mothers Day’,” he said.

“I had to think fast. Said I was just checking she remembered. Think I pulled it off,”

Phoebe Haddow says she received three texts from her brother on Saturday afternoon.

“In the first one, he says ‘oi what’re we doing for Mum tomorrow’,” she said.

“Then he goes ‘can I just transfer you half for whatever you got her’,”

“Then ‘surely just sign my name off on the card’,”

“I already had his name signed off on the card, the fuckwit. Don’t know why I do it,”

Though Phoebe says this year’s gift of choice is a mother and daughter yoga session voucher, she doubts their mum Donna will notice.

“Younger siblings are always the golden child. That's why they can pull this shit,” she said.

“Don’t hate the player, hate the game,” Artie smiled.

More to come.
