A local man that has taken it upon himself to chuck on the outdoor gas heater at a local restaurant has inadvertently crowned himself the restaurants alpha male for the night.
Luke Holsworthy (33), who had taken his date to an Italian restaurant, had no idea his night would end with him being crowned the top dog of the establishment.
The incident occurred when Luke and his date discovered that they would be dining outside.
"I've got nothing against dining outside but It was a little nippy I must say," Luke admitted.
Witnesses say Luke scanned the area briefly before confidently standing up, walking over to the heater, and switching it on without consulting staff, an act described by onlookers as aggressive yet necessary.
“There was a moment where everyone just watched,” said one diner.
“No one stopped him. That’s when you knew he’d taken control.”
Luke then reportedly returned to his seat without addressing the situation, as nearby tables began subtly repositioning themselves within the heater’s radius.
His date is believed to have been mildly impressed, though sources say she later asked if he was actually allowed to do that.
Restaurant staff declined to intervene, with one waiter saying he was in charge now.
Experts say the move taps into a deep, unspoken hierarchy within outdoor dining spaces, where initiative can quickly translate into perceived dominance.
Luke has since denied any intentional power play, insisting he was just cold.
