After many years of un-sporty women struggling to understand the passion for Aussie athletes going international, they're finally getting behind an Aussie / Kiwi dancer who’s made it into the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders this season.

23 year old Faith Ward, who was born in New Zealand and now lives in Perth, has shocked the globe by becoming a rookie in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading squad.

Local Betoota Marketing Executive, 35 year old Trisha Mayne, has found Faith’s journey to the Cowboys inspiring.

“Hearing an Aussie accent amongst those Texan women is honestly so refreshing,” Trisha told our reporter.

“My husband always goes on about Josh Giddey in the basketball or whatever and he just gets so into it, I never really understood until now.”

Faith has come to most Australians' attention through the popular docuseries, America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. One of her most notable moments was receiving the ponytail as her signature look.

“No you don’t understand, they ALWAYS have their hair down. This wasn’t just a huge moment for cheerleading, it was a huge moment for women,” Trisha said as our reporter realised she was donning the exact same hairstyle.

But as with any Netflix docuseries, the high highs can also come with some low lows. Faith was called rude for interrupting while receiving notes as well as posting too much on social media.

“She was verbally communicating that she understood the note IT’S A CULTURAL DIFFERENCE” Trisha nearly spat in our reporter's face.

“Don’t even get me started on when they were showing her the zoomed in photos of her dancing.”

After clearly falling in love with the Aussie cheerleader, Trisha can’t wait to tune in to the next season of American Football just to watch Faith.

“Where do you watch it on, like probs Kayo or something right? I’ll ask my husband.”

“If not, I’ll just watch her vids on Instagram, gotta support local.”
