Inner City Teen’s Attempts At Rebellion Hampered By Parents Being Weirdly Supportive Of Everything

A teenager from a trendy inner city suburb's attempts to rebel against his parents have hit a brick wall this week, after discovering they are annoyingly supportive of basically everything he does.

The 16 year old reportedly began his journey into teenage rebellion with the usual moves of dyed hair, piercings and questionable fashion choices, only to be met with encouragement from his painfully progressive parents.

“I came downstairs with my hair bleached and Mum just said it looked sick,” he said.

“Dad literally offered to help me dye it properly next time.”

Attempts to shock his parents by getting into grafitti, was met with his mum crying tears of joy that her son was a 'subversive creative'.

Desperate to generate even the slightest amount of parental disappointment, the teenager then began smoking cigarettes in the backyard, only for his dad to sit down beside him and explain that while he personally wouldn’t recommend it, he respected his autonomy

“Just fucking yell at me!” said the increasingly frustrated teenager.

With tattoos, grafitti, experimental haircuts and dropping out of uni all apparently already fell under his parents definition of “finding yourself” the teen has reportedly been forced into increasingly extreme territory.

Sources say the breakthrough finally came after he casually mentioned that maybe negative gearing was actually good.

“Mum went completely silent,” he said.

“I could tell immediately I’d found something.”

The teen has since purchased several RM Williams shirts, started listening to economics podcasts and informed his horrified parents that political correctness has “gone a bit far.”

“I told Dad I’m thinking of joining the Young Libs,” he said.

“He looked fucking devastated.”
