Labor Party Officials Spotted Burying Gambling Commission Reforms At Old Industrial Site In Marrickville

As the nation debates the merits of this year's Federal Budget, a few members of the current government have been spotted at an abandoned old industrial site out the back of Marrickville.

A number of Labor officials (who The Advocate is choosing to keep anonymous for obvious reasons) were seen digging a rather large hole on a vacant lot near the Cooks River on Tuesday night.

The stunning discovery occurred as most people were at footy training, working or watching the budget.

With people firing up on either side about how fucked the country is as a result of the government, it's believed a number of movers and shakers were taking a quiet moment to bury their reforms in response to the Gambling Royal Commission.

Coming nearly 3 years after the landmark report into gambling was handed down by the late Peta Murphy, the government's response was to announce its reforms mere hours before the budget.

Following that announcement, Don Albanese allegedly had the reform package buried on a block owned by an old associate.

As a result a number of small changes will be implemented to combat the issue that losses Aussies at least $26 billion a year (probably heaps more cause the numbers are old, and that's just sports and racing betting, don't even think about going near pokies lol).

Some advertising will be limited and there be a crack down of online promotions, but the key recommendation of a proper powerful national gambling regulator has been completely ignored, as well as a bunch over other reccomendations.

More to come.
