Auditions for the next era of the James Bond franchise are currently taking place, with Australian actor Jacob Elordi reportedly under consideration.
If Elordi was to land the part, he would be just the second Australian to play the role after the Goulburn boy George Lazenby, who previously starred as the iconic spy in the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
He would also join a long list of iconic Hollywood actors from an array of nationalities to play the iconic role. Including Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan.
This comes as the BBC confirms that British actor, Idris Elba, has officially ruled himself out as the first Black Bond - after well over a decade of speculation that he would be the next 007.
Elba says he was never up for consideration for a myriad of reasons, namely the fact that he is only 5 or so years younger than Daniel Craig - the most recent actor to play 007.
However, while not the first black Bond, Elordi would most definitely be the first Queenslander Bond.
Therefore, Hollywood producers are now questioning whether that would mean that the character might have to be tweaked slightly.
Speaking to The Betoota Advocate today on the condition of anonymity, one high-ranking film studio boss from Amazon MGM said "Elordi is a clear favourite"
Although concerns have been raised that the 28-year-old might be too tall to fit in an Aston Martin DB5.
"We would want him to feel comfortable in the role" said the film executive.
"And our research has shown that a Queensland version of James Bond would drive a mid-2000s Canary-Yellow Holden Monaro, which I believe is a high-class Australian sports vehicle that is favoured by both police and the underworld alike"
Other considerations given to a new 'Elordi Bond' reportedly include swapping out his iconic Vodka Martini for a 'shaken, not stirred' Bundaberg Rum and Cola.
"We are also thinking of replacing Bond's famous Walther PPK pistol with a Queensland police issue Remington R4 .223 Carbine longarm"
