Australia is today experiencing a spike in red and white, after a famous result for fans of Arsenal.

With the final day of the Premier League looming up this weekend, Manchester City needed to win against Bournemouth this morning to take the title race all the way to the end.

However, despite news their greatest ever coach was walking away at the end of the season, the Emirati football team were unable to get it done.

That means that after a long couple of decades, the Gunners are the champions of English football again.

That also means that half of Australia are now pretending to be Gunners fans again, with a sharp uptick in scarves and retro jerseys spotted across the nation.

"Bruv, it's been a long time," said some bloke named Johnno, who lived in London for 18 months a few years ago and fell in love with the likes of Bergkamp and Pires.

"I must admit, I was too nervous to say anything for the entirety of this calendar year, because I was so worried about us bottling it."

"The rest of the footballing (not soccer) world gives us shit about that for a reason."

"But I kinda just knew we were good for it this year," explained the man from the club who finally were only one signing away from the title.

When pressed on whether the football was as much fun to watch as Wenger's Invincibles, he laughed.

"Don't start me with this bullshit about how bad our style of football is."

"Winners are grinners."

"And gunners are grinners."

"Now let's go win the Champions League."
