The Premier of Newcastle Sydney and Wollongong (NSW) has today issued a stirring defence to speculation he may have done the dodgy on some donations.
With the NSW Electoral Commission quietly re-opening an investigation into the proceeds of the Sunny Seafood Dinner 12 years ago that allegedly didn't have the proper paperwork, Premier Chris Minns, has accused the commission of 'democracy manifest' in an exclusive interview with The Betoota Advocate.
"What is the charge?" said an infuriated Minns to The Advocate this morning.
"Enjoying a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?"
"And some subsequent Chinese donations."
He then randomly accused a police officer of putting their hand on his PENISSSSSSSS, which The Advocate has no actual evidence of.
The issue under investigation from NSW Electoral Commission actually relates to The Sunny Seafood dinner, described in a subsequent donations declaration as raising less than $6,000 from 10 donors.
However it was revealed by the ABC earlier this year to have actually hosted almost 200 people.
4 unnamed people have since been referred to the prosecutors office, with Minns refusing to provide much detail.
He told the mainstream media yesterday:
"I absolutely reject any suggestion that I've committed any offence in relation to this or any other electoral matter," he told a press conference.
"More specifically, I specifically reject any suggestion of phone conversation with an individual suggesting that I was part of some conspiracy relating to donations."
More to come.
