Dad’s Delicious Mash Consists Of More Butter Than Potato

A local father's famously delicious mashed potatoes have once again been praised by family members, despite experts confirming the dish now contains considerably more butter than actual potato.

For more than twenty years, 58 year old father of three Mark Henderson has insisted his creamy mash is made using "just a little knob of butter" a claim immediately contradicted by anyone who has watched him cook.

Witnesses report Mark begins with approximately four potatoes before steadily introducing half a block of butter, a generous pour of thickened cream and several pinches of salt.

"The trick is not to be stingy," Mark explained while cutting another suspiciously large slab from a fresh packet of butter.

"If you can still identify where the potato ends and the dairy begins, you've probably underdone it."

Despite annual promises to eat a bit healthier, family members admit nobody has ever suggested changing the recipe, largely because it remains the undisputed highlight of every roast dinner.

Mark's children also revealed they have unsuccessfully attempted to recreate the recipe at home, only to discover they lacked the balls required to chuck in what appears to be an irresponsible quantity of butter.

Mark reportedly rejected his daughter's suggestion of using low fat milk before quietly adding another spoonful of butter after everyone had left the kitchen, explaining that the mash just wasn't quite there yet.
