Confusion remains to the official whereabouts of defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro, who has fled his home country following Sunday's election loss.

Having had his 'political immunity' stripped - Brazilian authorities immediately cancelled Bolsonaro passports - as investigations into allegations of extreme corruption and money laundering by both Flavio Bolsonaro and his currently incarcerated ex-President father, Jair Bolsonaro.

However, Argentine officials say they have records of Bolsonaro junior boarding a flight to Ecuador.

Sources then told the BBC earlier on Tuesday that Bolsonaro had arrived in the US. Where Trump had publicly vowed to provide his entire family with visas.

Argentine migration authorities later confirmed that he had crossed Brazil's land border with Argentina late on Tuesday night local time.

This comes just days after the Presidential candidate refused to concede defeat to the incumbent leader Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. It has since become clear that his attempts to label the election as 'rigged' was just a tactic to buy time until he could organise his perfectly executed escape.

Flight tracking data has been unable to confirm if Bolsonaro has yet made it to the American mainland to seek political asylum.

Meanwhile, Australian media has reported that Flávio Bolsonaro was seen selling Açaí bowls in Bondi Beach.

An ever-increasingly popular spot for Brazilian backpackers and students, the iconic beach in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs would be the perfect place for Flávio Bolsonaro to keep a low profile amongst native tongue speakers who have been too busy getting stoned and dancing to follow domestic politics in their home country.

While the sightings remain unconfirmed, there have been other reports of a man matching the fugitive politician's description performing capoeira for cheering crowds of Aussie cougars outside the North Bondi RSL.
