"You'd Never Be Able To Do That In This Nanny State" Man Says Of Flying Two Commercial Jetliners Meters Above Stadium Full Of People

A local nostalgia enthusiast is shaking his head this morning after seeing footage of two jetliners in South Africa fly just meters above 55,000 people packed into a stadium in Cape Town.

Dennis Pooley is shaking his head because "you'd never be allowed to do that in Australia" like you would've been able back in his day.

Speaking to The Advocate in the smoking section of the Royal Betoota Zoo, where we were joined on the other side of the glass by our town's famous smoking gorilla, Paul, Pooley insisted the Riverfire in Brisbane is no comparison because there's little risk of things actually going wrong.

"Oh, we've all been honeydicked by Riverfire pictures," he said, coughing sharply.

"They're not even that close to hitting anything. They're a couple hundred meters away at best from crashing into the Meriton where we stayed for it. Complete nanny state shit, it is,"

"But these South African pilots, fuck me that was reckless. If they clipped the roof going in, they would've crashed into a stadium full of people, like tens of thousands of people could've been doused in burning jet fuel and roasted like marshmallows before every news camera in the country. It would've been the worst aviation accident in history. You just can't see that happening in Australia now,"

"We have too much red tape and other bullshit layers of bureaucracy. We used to be a country."

Paul then broke wind loud enough to be heard through the glass, before flicking the lit cigarette butt in the gorilla moat.

More to come.
