Turns out you social media sickos just can't get enough of the word of the week.

After thousands of suggestions flooding into our inboxes, this week our word is Fredagsbar.

Yes, it sounds like a viking or a mythical wonderland or even some tall peak, but it is in fact a much more homely and friendly word.

Used by the Danes, Fredagsbar loosely translates to the tradition of gathering for cheap drinks and socialising on Friday arvo to kick off the weekend

It started in Denmark during the 1960s as informal university gatherings and has since spread from campus pissups to modern workplaces and everything in between.

Here in Australia, with a beautiful ephemeral spring week upon us, The Advocate will be enjoying a Fredagsbar out in the sun, ahead of what looms as a rather hot summer.
