The most talked about man in Australian media has gone and done it this week.
Karl Stefanovic has finally got his exit from Channel 9, after insiders confirmed he has been dumped from the Today show and is set to negotiate a way out with the big dogs.
After months of lurching further and further into dark corners of the internet, Stefanovic has forced Channel 9's hand after lining up a chummy interview with British race baiter and violence instigator Tommy Robinson.
With back slapping and smiles around between Karl and the man who's been in jail five times, as well as declaring bankruptcy for a 100,000 pound gambling debt, the move drew widespread condemnation.
The interview was taken down, before Pauline Hanson re-uploaded it and Channel 9 decided enough is enough.
However, while a few are chortling about Karl losing his job, the exit from Channel 9 is believed to come as a welcome hug to Karl - who is now free to get some sweet sweet billionaire dark money.
He is now also free to talk to some more hard hitting and controversial figures that the media wants to shut up.
And the first stop is reportedly set to be Tasmania, with Karl lining up an interview at Risdon Maximum Security Prison.
Already planning the walking and talking to the camera shot where he will flag the number of bullets fired and the number of people killed, Karl says he's excited to take people into an intimate conversation with a man who has gotten a bad run in the media.
More to come.
