Our great southern land is today mulling over how to hit back at our fair-weather allies in the north of the Pacific.
The nation of Australia is reportedly considering firing back in the tariff war with the United States, by hitting them where it hurts.
In a bi-partisan measure, all major and minor parties have come to an in principle agreement to place tariff’s on Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.
The stunning move would see a 20% tariff slapped onto the star couple, ensuring more equitable compensation for the economic benefit provided by the pair of Aussies.
That mulling over of that play follows the United States placing tariffs on Australian steel and aluminium, in line with the rest of the tariffs placed on other nations.
Australia had initially been forecast to be exempt from the move, but the billion dollars of the good stuff we send to the States will now be slapped with a 25% fee.
The move comes despite Australia sucking up to America in ever single global conflict for the last century, letting them put their military bases and shit on our territory and helping out their companies.
However, like many other countries that have played ball with the US of A, we have not been spared from the economic sanctions – something which wouldn’t have happened if Opposition Leader Peter Dutton was in charge.
Now though, the United States might need to re-think their tariffs after being hit with the Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman economic measures.
The White House is yet to respond to The Advocate on the proposed measures.
More to come.
