Droves of Englishmen (and a few Welsh and Scottish) are already spit-balling some excuses and mental gymnastics that will be pivotal during the FIFA world cup next month.
With England's national squad once again consisting heavily of players with immigrant backgrounds, many anti-migrant patriots are reportedly beginning the difficult emotional preparation of aggressively supporting people they spent the last six months complaining about on Facebook.
"Obviously immigration is ruining the country," explained Darren Wilkes (54) from Essex, while wearing an England jersey with Bukayo Saka's name printed across the back.
"But also if Saka cuts in from the left and bangs one top bins against Argentina, then that's different innit."
Locals say pubs across the country are already filling with middle-aged men rehearsing complicated talking points about how footballers are somehow exempt from the anti-immigration opinions they usually express beneath Daily Mail comment sections.
"It's not hypocrisy" clarified one supporter.
"If they get us a World Cup I don't 'av a problem with them"
The "Unite The Kingdom" rally, which fell almost exactly a month before the world cup, has made things awkward for attendees who are looking forward to going into the World Cup with a strong squad which also happens to mainly be made up of immigrants and children of immigrants.
Several attendees at the rally reportedly spent the afternoon loudly chanting about preserving “traditional English culture” before heading home to debate whether Jude Bellingham or Bukayo Saka should take penalties.
