A local man of the synthetic polymer paper has today sat down with The Advocate to explain just why he's so pissed off with Jim Chalmers.
Will Cunningham (27) says he can't believe what Jim Chalmers is doing to this country, and particular the next generation coming through.
"Let me just say, I'm not some hot headed gym bro character shouting at a camera with feelings not facts about how this budget is communist," laughed the Old Whootian (Betoota's most decorated an prestigious sandstone secondary school).
"But this budget is just kneecapping a whole generation of young people trying to get ahead."
"Like young people are so fucked now," said Will, as if young people weren't completely fucked before.
Will says that the two major issues with the budget, are the changes to the NBIS (National Boomer Investment Scheme).
"Mate, removing negative gearing just means anyone who's got a bit of go about them can no longer use their parent's money or privileged upbringing to accumulate property and then hold desperate renters to ransom and bill the tax payer for any short falls," said Will.
"It's just pulling the ladder up on ordinary people after previous generations were able to cash in," said the trust fund recipient who's family is worth a cumulative 30 million dollars as a result of various property holdings.
"But the thing that gets me is removing the CGT exemption for other asset classes."
"Like how the hell is a young person from a low socioeconomic family now supposed to understand the financial system, buy a range of low risk ETFS, some solid hitters and a couple of penny stocks that might 10x and help fund their house deposit?" said Will.
"That was something anyone could do and now it's gone thanks to Jim."
"So how's anyone supposed to get ahead now?"
"This budget is just fucking young people," he finished, as if every budget in the last 5 decades hasn't fucked young people.
