Last year's grand finalists are set to kick off the penultimate round of the NRL tonight.

The rematch is one that people at the start of the season assumed would have been a hell of a lot spicier.

However, with both powerhouses of the NRL having rather underwhelming seasons, the Thursday night blockbuster has absolute zero finals ramifications.

With the Storm and Broncos languishing in 11th and 15th respectively, the NRL is set to trial a new kick off rule tonight.

However, the two teams stacked with representative talent have also agreed to their own little rule between them.

In a historic first for the NRL, the Storm and Broncos are set to play Shoulders tonight.

Popularised by school kids around the country, shoulders is a style of hybrid touch rugby league, that is allowed by the 50% of the school teachers that are chill.

The game requires everyone to buy in and not put on any actual shots, otherwise the people in charge force you to go back to playing only touch footy.

Of course, if the teacher turns his back, a quick shot or two is absolutely on, but is generally only acceptable if both players are up for it.

Dog shots are exactly that, dog.

So, with Bali just around the corner for both teams.

Shoulders has been agreed to in the name of preserving the bodies and getting through lunch without any dramas.
