Retired Billy Slater Sensationally Wins Man Of The Match For Origin Game One

Former Queensland great Billy Slater has sensationally been awarded Man Of The Match in the wake of Game One of State of Origin this evening.

In an incredible turn of events for the ex Melbourne Storm Fullback, Slater was called up on stage to be presented with the honour by Wally Lewis just moments ago.

The decision has left many baffled and confused as to how the decision was made.

Slater won the medal despite the fact he didn’t play a second of the first game in the series, leaving many questioning the call.

The boy from Innisfail, who was in full kit for some reason, accepted the medal and gave ‘full credit to the boys.’

Since the announcement was made a short time ago, Slater has shortened significantly to win the Wally Lewis Medal for the man of the series for a second year running.

More to come.
