A Betoota Heights retiree is this week feeling like the world is all skew-whiff after finding himself nodding in approval at something the government has done.

As he has fuck all else to do on a Thursday afternoon, Dale Peckham of Greentree Circuit was at home on the couch thumbing his way through social media when an image caught his eye.

Labor frontbenchers, sitting in the House of Representatives, wearing Anko tracksuits and smoking Longbeach Supermild 40s.

It gave him pause to chuckle and shake his head.

Peckham later told The Advocate that he'd seen the exact same image earlier in the week, of them all wearing expensive designer labels. Which was something he didn't like because it's his taxes that pay for it all.

Speaking to our reporter this afternoon down the Green Avenue Shops, where we were both at the newsagent buying PowerBall tickets for tonight funnily enough, Peckham was kind enough to produce the image that made the former school teacher soften his view on Albanese.

"That's more bloody like it," he said.

"You know I didn't know Tanya [Plibersek] was a smoker. I reckon being a smoker these days makes you a bit of a pariah, being forced to go outside and everything now. Good to see you can still have a smoke in Parliament, like you could back in the Howard era,"

"And you don't bloody need David Jones clothes to sit in an office all day, good to see the tracksuits, too. Next thing, they'll be getting the bus to work with the scum of the Woden Valley. Great to see some value for our tax dollar."

Peckham then wished our reporter well in the PowerBall and walked directly into the Betoota Heights Workies over the road.

More to come.
