After a fun couple of months, the nation has confirmed that it's time for a bit of a break.

This comes as the 2026 FIFA World Cup wrapped up in New Jersey this week, after a rather underwhelming final.

With Argentina failing to record a shot until the dying embers of extra time, the fireworks came off the ball after the final whistle with the worlds biggest soccer players carrying on like soccer players.

That coupled with a Spanish guy doing a triple summersault off a rather middle of the range tackle has left the majority of non-football diehards ready for a break.

"Yeah, it was fun while it lasted, and I enjoy the early morning wake ups," said one tired local man, Henry Ison.

"And the workplace distractions were worth their weight in gold."

"So don't get me wrong, it was awesome."

"But I'm ready to take a bit of a footballing detox for a while."

When informed that the Premier League kicks off in a month, Ison laughed.

"Yeah, I'll enjoy a couple of 9:30pm Saturday games if it suits, but I'm talking a proper break."

"Maybe pick things back up around Champions League knockouts."

"Or I'll just wait to the World Cup next year in Brazil for a bit of Tilly time."

When informed that Brazil are also coming to Queensland in a couple of months, Ison sighed.

"Yeah I'll obviously get around that too."

More to come.
