In perfectly timed news, there appears to be a new generation of world-beating sporting talent coming through the Australian tennis system just in time for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

Cruz Hewitt, the offspring of Australia's first ever celebrity power couple - has qualified for the semifinals of the Wimbledon boys' tournament after multiple straight-sets wins.

The son of tennis star Lleyton and Aussie pop starlet Bec Hewitt, the tennis world had been quietly observing the 17-year-old's career for several years now.

And it seems that Lleyton and Bec's boy is doing alright.

Now the same age his father was when he become a househould name, Cruz Hewitt has arrived at the Wimbledon semifinal without dropping a single set in four matches.

This is big. Cruz Hewitt is one more victory away from being the first Aussie to make a Wimbledon final since Alex de Minaur 10 years ago.

And this rise to greatness has all happened in the back drop of a jam-packed global sporting calendar, with Australians now very happy to only be finding out just now.

Without wanting to put to much pressure on the young fella, the nation is now very excited for another lifetime of sporting glory.
