WE'RE BACK BABY: Local Brisbane woman, Rosalie Barton (24) is emerging from the miserable Queensland winter with a new lease on life.

After nearly 6 whole weeks of sub-20 degree evenings - there's been a melancholic mood in the River City.

What's worse for Rosalie is that all of her friends, mum and brothers have been proven correct about that lowlife boyfriend that she dedicated 3 years of her life to.

Not only was he a mummy's boy who didn't brush his teeth and blew all of his money on sportsbetting apps and shit cocaine, but he was also a no-good cheater.

In what is a clear example of 'shoulda listened' - Rosalie caught her boyfriend talking to other women on the iMessage app that was connected to his iPad that she had borrowed to watch re-runs of the Great Australian Bake Off on SBS On Demand.

And given that her now ex-boyfriend was a low quality bloke, she was somehow gaslit into thinking that it was her that drove him to this.

In a relief to all of her loved ones, Rosalie saw through his bullshit and split the sheets.

While the girlfriends and family members rushed to rally around the devastated and embarrassed ICU nurse, it was hard to console her.

The heartbreak, the identity crisis, the logistics. It really was one of those break ups.

Rosalie was in the dumps for months, until one fateful night last week.

The weather had gotten a bit warmer, Rosalie had gotten a bit of a tan and a few new outfits. It was a prime time for a night in the Valley with the girls.

What happened next was the best case scenario, according to her girlfriends.

"We're just so happy for her" said close friend Mackenzie.

"This was just want she needed" says another friend, Ferny.

Rosalie's friends are of course talking about the life-changing transitional Brisbane girl past time of rooting a Bronco.

That's what Rosalie did on Friday night.

"Yeah one of fringe players" says Rosalie, who is now thriving after this casual sexual encounter with a mildly famous and surprisingly polite NRL star whose team finished in 14th place two weeks ago.

"So he's worth bragging about, but he's not going to haunt me on the billboards."

"He was really cute, and even better, he was extremely dumb - so I doubt he'll remember my name if we bump into each other again"

"Plus his contract is yearly so he could easily be sent to Papua New Guinea any minute now"
