Poor Little Gas Companies Who Can Sponsor Every Sporting Code In Nation Can't Afford To Pay Any Tax Apparently

The nation is this week being treated to a nice sob story from a couple of citizens down on their luck.

With record energy prices and a cost of living crisis re-constricting the country, the nation's biggest dole bludgers have revealed that they too are doing it tough.

They've done so by getting Liberal's leader Angus Taylor to front the media and explain that a 25% windfall tax would put the likes of Santos, Origin and Woodside out of business.

This comes as a parliamentary inquiry kicks off in Canberra into a gas tax, roughly a few decades too late.

Taylor has claimed that a tax would destroy the industry that pillages our national resources and leaves us with nothing other than offensive sports sponsorships.

It's not known exactly how a new tax would bankrupt the price gouging gas exporters, given resource reach countries like the UAE, Norway and Saudi Arabia seem to be doing pretty well financially off the back of the shit they've got under the ground or seabed.

The classic billionaires moving off shore narrative will of course be trotted out across the media, despite a massive groundswell of popular support for a tax on tax dodging gas companies.

That will be followed by a few more PR plays from the gas lobby, who are feeling the public pinch so much they've even slightly toned down their price gouging this month.

More to come.
