The American political system has been thrown off kilter today, after major swings to the Democrats in traditionally red heartlands that were once scoffed at as potential blue gains.

This means that Americans in the South can now finally enjoy the fruits of diversity and inclusion without being humiliated or criminalised by the conservative media and political class.

In the 2026 US Midterms, the Democrats have won not only the US House and Senate, but governorships, state legislatures, and a 'blunami' of other down-ballot offices across the 'Blunited States'

The scale of these wins have vastly outperformed even the most optimistic predictions - as voters take baseball bats to the Trump Administration for their endless string of corruption allegations, the extremely unpopular war in Iran, and the white knuckling cost of living.

These elections also once again proved that nothing can beat grassroots campaigning, as US politics saw a return to mobilisation over manipulation.

Despite the Big Tech oligarchs clearing putting their fingers on the scale, the algorithmic culture wars are no longer disrupting political discourse like they used to - with Elon Musk blowing an estimated half a billion dollars in his attempts to run cover for President Trump.

Even the blatant gerrymandering in red states proved pointless, as the redrawn republican congressional districts were lost thanks to the record-breaking voter turn out.

And for the first time since Roosevelt's New Deal, the Deep South is once again fertile ground for the democrats - with states like Georgia, Texas, both Carolinas being called just hours into the count.

However, it was the humid and rural gulf state of Mississippi that has left political pundits from both sides of the aisle lost for words.

The Mississippi Senate race has shifted 23.01 points toward Democrats compared with the 2024 presidential election - as of last count, the Democratic candidate Scott Colom leads by 1000 votes.

The flow on affects of such a unprecedented political alignment are already visible in America culture, with the Fort Worth-based Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) now allowing not only female athletes to compete, but also transgender Americans.

The NFL has also reported that they will now host a pride round, and any footballers who have a problem with that will be forced to hand over their DMs.

It is believed Louisana is the next on the list of deep south states that they Democrats would like to target as a potential blue gain, with New Orleans residents more than ready to admit that their entire city is pretty gay.
