Opposition To Oppose Algorithm Reforms Because Their Entire Political Strategy Relies On Brain Rot

The Federal Opposition has this week vowed that they will oppose new legislation aimed at stopping Australian families and communities from being torn apart.

Under the proposed laws, Australians will be empowered to opt out of 'the algorithm' in their social media feeds - as the government aims to limit the disastrous effects that extremely polarising content and dangerous conspiracies are having on the community.

Much like the Albanese government's unsuccessful attempts to introduce the online misinformation bill, the new 'digital duty of care' bill is facing immediate backlash from the far-right and far-left social media grifters who make money out of delivering polarising and extreme content into the frontal lobes of Australian social media users.

With ASIO and other intelligence agencies being overwhelmed with the amount of religious, political and conspiratorial extremism that is being fed into the community through these platforms, the new laws would demand the Big Tech publishers give Australian the options to just follow their own chosen network - as opposed to whatever violent, bigoted and sexually-charges content rises to the top of the algorithm.

The domestic social unrest currently gripping the United States offers an example of the late-stage brain rot that occurs when unregulated big tech platforms are able to completely detach vast segments of the population from a legitimate news cycle, and in many cases, reality.

From the January 6 riots to the current example of collective parasocial schizophrenia that surrounds a triple murder trial in Massachusetts - every day people from all ends of the political spectrum are susceptible to going down the rabbit holes that are presented to them by the social media algorithms.

Why it should be no surprise that One Nation would furiously oppose these kind of reforms, many thought this might be where the Liberal Party draws a line between them and the far-right populists.

However, with local Liberal and National Party branches awash with members who are already fucked in the head from online grievance politics, the Coalition actually does not have a plan to win over voters outside of the algorithm.

Even with their own MPs facing threats of violence from dangerous young men who have been radicalised online, the Liberals know that the alternative to algorithmic outrage is actually coming up with decent policies.

This has proven too daunting for the embattled Opposition, who would rather spend their days blaming school teachers for society's problems.

Far-right organisations such as the IPA and News24 are also deeply concerned that these reforms will cut off their access to sickly young virgins who spend their lives looking into a screen in their mum's basements.
