Middle Class Australian Family Breaks The Mould By Not Naming Pet Staffy ‘Roxy’

A family in Betoota Plains are being praised for their efforts to branch out following a decision to not name their new pet staffy ‘Roxy’. 

The Bennetts, who welcomed ‘Luna’ into the family last week, say it was a tough call to make. 

“It was this close,” said father Paul, bringing his fingers together into a pinch motion. 

“Obviously like every other family who has ever owned a staffy we chose to get another staffy again, making this little gal our third.”

“Our last staffy was called ‘Buddy’, which was obviously such a great name.”

“However, it was slightly confusing at the dog park when you would call for him and ten dogs would come running. So we decided to do something a little bit different with this one.”

“My wife [Linda] got the name Luna off of a Betoota Staffy Owners Facebook page, it just seemed to be the one.”

“Plus, she came from a litter of nine if you can believe it, and the breeders told us three families had already come in and named their puppy Roxy. And all four of the boys who had been adopted were named Buddy funnily enough.”

“Anyway, there was only one other family going with Luna so that’s what we settled on.”

“But we definitely aren’t ruling out Roxy for the next staffy we get after her, it’s just such a great name.”
