A thrifty pub is making the most of its leftovers today, as it attempts to captialise on the healthy business that comes with finals footy.
After failing to lure many punters in at 9:30am this morning, Richmond venue The Carlton Arms has reportedly decided to rebrand its ‘NFL Buffalo Wings Special’ into a cross-code footy finals feast.
Hoping that Melbourne locals would skip their usual Friday morning meetings to come and watch the NFL at the G game, The Carlton has this week been talking up its special gridiron offer, $30 for a bowl of Buffalo Wings and pint of Coors.
But after only getting a handful of gambling addicts through the front door, many of whom just ate Weetbix before coming in the pub, it’s believed the venue has heaps of wings leftover and will be reheating them tonight for anyone who wants to watch Freo take on the Cats.
Speaking to the publican Corey Dryer, it’s understood he’s managed to log back into his ChatGPT account and remake the poster for tonight’s Friday night footy crowd.
“AI makes it so easy, I knocked up the post for the wings special about a day ago,” said Corey.
“As if I’m going to let 100 kilos of pre-basted wings go to waste, I just went out the back and did up a new poster and it’ll be on our Facebook page by 4pm this arvo.”
“I haven’t even turned the oven off, I’ll notch it up to $35 for a bowl and call them “Slow cooked wings” and swap the Coors for a Carlton Draught. Easy as!”
