Ethan Bourke (28) often likes to dream big, especially with his travel plans.
He’s regularly brainstorming and committing to trips he really won’t ever follow through on.
Last year, he was all in on climbing Mount Everest despite the $50,000 price tag and his lack of climbing expertise.
The year before that he thought a 3 month euro summer would be doable despite his full time employment.
His most recent pitch to the boys, however, involves a plan to spend five nights camping in the freezing Tasmanian wilderness and walking over 30 kilometres a day.
Though at face value, this plan mightn’t seem as grand as the previous, Ethan’s mate Todd Scott says you couldn’t pay him to accompany him on the trek.
“He’s dreaming. He is THE biggest princess,”
“He fully sleeps with a 10 hour White Noise Sleep 432 Hz Relaxation and Healing playlist on Spotify every night,”
“I’ve also never seen him eat anything from a can. So,” he said.
Ethan fails to see how this would get in the way of anything.
“Okay so for one, I can just download that playlist, and if it runs my phone flat overnight, that's like the whole reason we bring portable chargers,”
“And then two, you can actually freeze dry chicken and rice, I’ve been researching it. So I will just pack three of those for every day we’re away. So that’s 15 meals right there. And then I will pack a few protein bars and it’s happy days,”
"Now if you'll excuse me, I need to continue perusing Sky Scanner."
More to come.
