Man Who Didn't Eat Halloumi Within 2 Minutes Now Forced To Chew Through Squeaky Piece Of Rubber

A 29 year old man who failed to eat his halloumi within the first two minutes of it arriving at the table has now been forced to chew through what he has described as a warm piece of industrial rubber.

Matt Johnston (29) reportedly ordered the halloumi for the table, while he finished the rest of his meal.

That decision almost immediately proved costly.

By the time he returned to the plate, the once-soft cheese had cooled into a dense, squeaky slab that required significantly more effort than expected.

“I should’ve just eaten it straight away,” he said, after several seconds of whincing at the squeeky sound the haloumi was making in his mouth.

"I hate that squeaky sound." 

Friends at the table say the warning signs were obvious to everyone.

“It was perfect when it came out,” said one diner.

“Golden on the outside, soft in the middle. He had his chance.”

Instead, the man spent several minutes focusing on chips, salad and a conversation about weekend plans, allowing the halloumi to quietly cross the point of no return.

He eventually attempted to cut another piece with the side of his fork, before being forced to use a knife and both hands.

The remaining cheese was reportedly consumed out of principle.

Restaurant staff have confirmed there was nothing wrong with the dish and that this is simply what happens when halloumi is left unattended for more than 120 seconds.

The man has since said he learned an important lesson from the experience.
