‘Long Distance Relationships Are Too Hard’ Says Burleigh Man Breaking Up With Girl From Surfers

In a peculiar stance on modern romance, a Queensland bloke has proven the Burleigh bubble is very real, after admitting he just broke up with his girlfriend because she lives too far away – Surfers Paradise.

Jake Dawson, 28,  says he considers the 10km to be too much of a significant obstacle, and that ‘long distance relationships are just too hard and not for him.”

“For me, it’s all about practicality,” Jake explained to our reporter, shrugging his shoulders.

“Surfers Paradise might be just a few kilometres away, but with traffic and other commitments, it feels like a world apart. I don’t want to invest in something that would require a long commute just to spend time together.”

“It’s not about her; she’s a great person,” Jake clarified, his tone sincere.

“But when you factor in the distance, it changes things. I’ve seen friends struggle with long-distance relationships, and I don’t want to put myself in that situation.”

“I think in the future, I could only date someone who lived in Burleigh.”
