Local Woman Who Thought She Was Getting In Early Only Slightly Surprised 2 Hour Domestic Flight Home For Christmas Is Going To Cost Her $1750

A woman in Betoota’s french quarter has made no effort to feign shock after discovering her flights home over the Christmas period are going to cost her about three weeks' pay. 

Harper Wilson, who relocated to Betoota from Victoria just after Covid, is no stranger to the price tag that accompanies flying in December. 

Though the 26 year old admits she thought August would still be early enough to secure a half decent price, she is hardly surprised. 

“Yeah it’s going to be $1750. And that’s Jetstar. $1900 if I want to go with Qantas,” she said. 

“When I say I thought I’d still manage to get something half decent, I was still expecting it to cost over a grand. Usually it does. So yeah. Pretty shit but what can you do.”

“I suggested Mum come up here for Chrissy as all my housemates will be away and the place will be empty, but she honestly was like somewhat offended.”

“But then makes no effort to chip in for my flights. She used to do that sometimes when I was still studying, like a hundred bucks or so which was really good.”

“Anyway, I actually haven’t added luggage to that yet, so there’s a chance it goes up to like 2 grand. I could just take 7kg, but actually no. Why would I do that.”

“It’s fine. Lucky I just got my tax return back I guess.”

As she punched her card details into the checkout screen, Harper was hit with an additional $100 surcharge in card fees.
