A local woman will spend the duration of this evening trying to resist any air fist pumps - as her her beloved State of Origin side takes to the field.

Earlier in the month, 29-year-old Yana Timble was attempting to be a supportive partner by attending her boyfriend’s State of Origin watch party when she found herself enjoying it more than she expected.

“I’m not really a big rugby person, especially watching rugby with my boyfriend’s friends who can be extremely passionate about the whole thing” Yana told the Advocate.

“But once I internally picked the team I was going to support based on who had the most attractive players, I became very invested” she added.

Yana began yelling at the game, complaining about the umpires and that the whole competition was rigged when her team wasn’t winning.

“I don’t know where it came from, I called a player a fucken idiot and another a shocking excuse for a sportsman. Like what???”

When her team began to get in the lead, she felt a rush go through her entire body, even feeling the urge to stand up.

“Once I started sitting on the edge of the couch, I realised I was looking like I was having too much fun” said Yana.

“If my boyfriend thinks I’m having a blast he’s going to make me watch every game with him for the next 17 rounds. Like State of Origin is fine cause there’s only 3 games but the whole thing... Fuck no.”

When the game finished and Yana and her boyfriend were left to clean up after the successful watch party, Yana’s boyfriend asked if she enjoyed the game to which she kept her response clear and concise.

“Yeah it was fun, I didn’t really know what was going on but yeah good.”

Since the game, Yana’s boyfriend hasn’t asked her to watch another game, but she has cleared her schedule ahead of tonight's match.

She will also continue watching series highlights on Tik Tok when her boyfriend isn’t in the room.
