In the lead up to Halloween, a young Betoota woman has asked herself the age old question, hot or funny?
24 year old graduate nurse Bella Tapsel, has always enjoyed the American holiday, but has always struggled to decide which side of the funny to hot spectrum she should land on for a costume.
“If you go funny it’s like wow she’s so goofy and doesn’t give a shit what people think, go her” Bella explained.
“But on the other hand, if you dress up hot then you look hot.”
Lindsay Lohan famously says in 2004 comedy, Mean Girls, “halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it” young women over 20 years later in 2026 however are worried they won’t seem unique enough.
“I could go as a hot devil and have an excuse to wear my red corset I bought two years ago when they were a thing,” Bella told our reporter.
“All I’d need are the horns and the tail but is it just TOO basic?”
Bella is tossing up between slutty devil or potentially dressing up as Walter White from Breaking Bad with his bowler hat on.
“I kinda want to do bald cap, yellow hazmat suit, mask, facial hair, fake meth and then that bowler hat he has when he gets hell evil, like c’mon that is classic!”
“It’s not hot at all but it’s sooooo funny.”
While researching hazmat suits, Bella’s discovery of the zip that goes all the way down the middle made her come up with a great solution.
“I mean we’re probably all thinking it… slutty Walter White.”
“Unzip the suit, yellow push up bra underneath, no bald cap, keep facial hair of course.”
“Hot and funny always wins.”
