A health conscious man who normally considers drinking his calories an unnecessary waste has made an exception after spotting a glass bottle of Coca-Cola in a cafe fridge.
Zack Hughes (32), a committed Coke Zero drinker, said the circumstances justified ditching a rule he had otherwise maintained for several years.
“Yeah, but it’s in glass,” he explained.
“That’s different.”
Zack had initially approached the fridge intending to purchase sparkling water, before noticing the familiar bottle sitting between an imported lemonade and a juice costing nine dollars.
Within seconds, he had decided to go all in on the coke.
“You can’t get the full experience with Zero,” he said.
“This is how it’s supposed to be.”
Despite having no understanding of food science, Zack remains certain that glass improves the flavour making it worth the wasted calories.
He also believes the first sip requires a brief pause afterwards.
“Fuck, that’s good,” he said, examining the label as though the ingredients might have changed since childhood.
Having finished the bottle alongside a chicken sandwich, the 32 year old returned to his position that sugary soft drinks were largely unnecessary but definetly worth it when they came in retro glass bottles.
