A modern day Odysseus is preparing for his very own Odyssey this evening.
Nearly 3000 years after the original voyage, and some weeks after the modern one hit screens, Craig Craigson is hitting the highest of seas.
With an impromptu but high energy Friday evening session on the cards, Craigson is very aware of what lies ahead tomorrow.
"Yeah, there is no rest for me my friend," mused Craigson, waiting at the bar to fulfil his sacrificial obligations to the group in a round of full strength lagers.
"My better half has a 7am pilates, and then when she returns it is full noise," he laughed.
"And you sure as shit know she won't be sneaking out of the room like a church mouse at 6:30."
Craigson then explained that upon her return he is aware that they are up and at them for a 12 stop journey through the hell of Betoota's rental market.
"Forget Greek mythology, trying to wade through a line of 20 rental applicants attempting to make a good impression on some Cyclopean real estate agents is as rough as it gets."
"And then it's a baby shower for our mates, into her sister's birthday at a fancy joint in town."
"It's going to be a very long day."
"But, I agreed to all those things weeks ago, and now I must go forth into battle with this schooners and the consequences of said lagers."
More to come.
