A family of four promised a picturesque beachside getaway have had their hopes and dreams shattered after coming to find their destination of choice is also a popular hangout for teenage eshays.
The Morrisons arrived at Coolum Beach around midday Friday.
“We were a little bit naughty and pulled the kids out of school for the day,” said Tim Morrison.
“Maybe that was our first sign. We’re not usually rule-breakers,”
Upon checking into their beachfront hotel, the family enjoyed some cheeky cheese and crackers on the balcony before wandering down to the esplanade in search of dinner.
Unfortunately the youth of Coolum were also after a nice hot meal.
“The McDonalds on the corner was just overrun by the lot of them,” he said.
“Honestly, I thought the whole ‘eshay style’ moment had come and gone in our society, but apparently not,”
“I’ve never seen so many Nautica polos and crossbody satchels in my life. Really not what I imagined. I thought they'd be all beachy, like Outer Banks vibes,”
Ultimately, Tim says the teens were rather well behaved.
“It does definitely seem to be more of a looks thing,”
“Still, I might just avoid the massive park at night, just to be safe,”
More to come.
