Knights Fans Take A Quick Piss And Pump Some PieFace At Halfway Point In Brissy Airport

The hallways of Brisbane airport are looking even more high vis orange than usual this morning, as the airport welcomes some Novocastrians from the south.

As Queensland’s main gateway to FIFO mines across the state, Brisbane airport is no stranger to having hundreds of brightly coloured orange jackets dawdle through security check points, as miners make their way to places like Moranbah and Mount Isa.

However, as thousands of Newcastle faithful make the trip across the ditch to play the Warriors in this weekend's semi-finals, it’s believed all flights from Newy have had to make the obligatory pit stop 800kms north in Brisbane, before flying onto Auckland.

Speaking to one Knights fan, Brad Tighes-Hill from North Lambton, the stop over in Brisbane has given the planeload of fans the chance to splash their boots and grab a quick bite to eat.

“It’s been pretty smooth so far, we took off in Newy and landed here in Brissy so fast my coffee is still warm,” said Brad.

“It’s a bit of a muck around changing airplanes n’ that, but I guess that’s what happens when you can’t fly direct.”

Shovelling a Chicken Tikka pie and a Biscoff doughnut into his mouth, before dusting the crumbs off on his jean pockets, Brad says he’s just excited to get around the Knights on international soil for a second time this year, given he was also one of the sickos that flew to Vegas for Round One.

“Flying to see the Knights at Eden Park, it’s gonna be sick! And doing this stop over is still heaps better than driving to Sydney and getting shafted a thousand bucks for parking at the airport.”

“At Williamtown I can just leave my car in a paddock off from Cabbage Tree Rd for free, and hopefully is hasn’t been torched when I get back. Will let ya know how I go…”
