Notable Australian personality Karl Stefanovic has today made a stunning admission.

Speaking exclusively to The Advocate about the current cross roads he finds himself at, the man known to many as Karlos has admitted he might have fumbled the bag.

"Yeah, I might have cooked it," sighed Karl, who's new media venture is on hiatus while court proceedings over its ownership take place.

The previously pretty universally liked television personality who had one of the most lucrative gigs in traditional media, has confirmed that maybe he should have just stayed a salaryman.

This come's as the legal battle plays out between Karl and his podcast business partner, with the court ordering the new venture to be wound up, or Karl buy her out.

The pair have cited irreconcilable differences, with Karl on the hook to cough up or find someone to cough up for 45% of the business.

It's not really known why Karl gave up 45% of his new business straight off the bat, but it's believed to be somewhat of an indication that Karl might not have been aware of the benefit of an army of lawyers, salespeople, producers and a mainstream media channel that automatically gets broadcast into millions of eyeballs.

However, it is known that Karl needs to find a solution to the ownership of his podcast, the desertion of major sponsors, and the lack of automatic viewing and cultural capital that come with having a traditional media gig.

Karl confirmed that his generational fumble to chase online algorithms that reward conflict and engagement instead of crying while eating a chilli or hot pie, has seen him hit up his old boss for some work.

Given that's lead to the offer of a couple of trial shifts on 2GB, an even more atrophying format than TV, it's likely Common Man Cosplay Karl will now have to go cap in hand and become an official puppet of a dark money billionaire by selling his business to them.

"Yeah, that won't really be as fun as interview footy players ahead of Origin," sighed Karl.

"3 million was a lot of money a year."

"Like a lot."

"Fuck."

More to come.
