Jacinta Allan Quits To Spend More Time With Her CFMEU

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has this morning announced she is stepping aside as leader of the state.

Fronting the media at 9:30am this morning, Allan revealed that she would not contest the upcoming leadership ballot, and instead would hand the job over to Deputy Ben Carroll or whoever else the party wants in charge.

Allan said the decision was tough one, but ultimately one she made so she can spend more time with her CFMEU.

The resignation follows months of headlines surrounding Allan and the Labor party, alleging that widespread corruption had deep roots amongst government infrastructure projects and was costing the state billions every year.

Alleged corruption within Victoria's Big Build had reportedly added a 20-30% premium onto projects, with taxpayers of course left to foot the bill.

The alleged corruption and response to it has of course been pinned entirely on Jacinta by the party, and has nothing to do with any of her predecessors or the people who are about to ascend to power.

Allan will step down as Premier after becoming the youngest ever woman to be elected as an MP to Victorian State parliament.

Her replacement is set to be Ben Carroll, who definitely won't have any connections to, or a relationship with the CFMEU.

Allan is set to commiserate the end of her tenure down at the CFMEU club house before taking a bit of an interstate ride to recalibrate a bit.
