HR Department Curious Why 14 Men Have Suddenly Applied For Leave On The Same Day In November

The brownshirts at a mid-sized Betoota Heights marketing firm has reportedly grown suspicious this week after discovering that 14 male employees have all requested leave for the exact same day in November.

The applications, submitted within hours of each other, reportedly cite a range of pressing personal matters including family commitments, funerals, moving house and, in one honest case, a mental health day.

HR manager Fiona Frisbee says the coincidence is becoming difficult to ignore.

"It's quite strange," she said.

"We've got blokes from IT, accounts, sales, creative and even one of the senior partners all suddenly requiring Thursday November 19 off. One bloke has also requested the Friday, Monday and Tuesday either side of it,"

"He says he’s going camping."

Management became further concerned after noticing several employees had also begun asking detailed questions about the company’s work-from-home policy and whether staff are technically required to have their cameras turned on during internal meetings.

One employee, who asked not to be named, denied his leave request had anything to do with anything dodgy.

"Nah mate, nah. Completely unrelated to GTA6," he said.

"My wife's cousin's aunt. She's on her last legs, mate. Booking in leave for when I reckon she'll pop her clogs. Gotta stay on top of this kinda stuff, be organised and that."

HR has since advised staff that annual leave will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Three additional applications were received as this story was written.
