Today, after a series of unpublicised negotiations, News Corp Australia and Betoota News Pty Ltd  are happy to announce a history-making partnership that will benefit both companies and both communities, but more importantly – all consumers of news.

After several months of bickering and a longstanding but healthy rivalry, The Betoota Advocate is very happy to join the likes of the Daily Telegraph, Australian, NT News, Courier Mail and the Herald Sun – in the highly-esteemed News Corp stable.

While this announcement is surprising for many, it will not change the format of The Betoota Advocate, the $1.2 Million dollars put forward by Rupert Murdoch does not mean our new siblings are going to be immune from the critical and cynical Betoota pen.

To our readers, please have confidence. Things will not change here at Betoota.

We will continue to strive to report fair, just and unbiased news. Without fear or favour

Kind Regards,

Errol Parker & Clancy Overell.

  1. You’ve sold out, man (men)! You couldn’t ignore the big bucks and your reporting flair for being balanced and fair will change. Everyone knows that Murdoch holds all editorial rights in his publications. You’ve done a deal with the very devil himself. Very disappointing!
