Growing One Nation Momentum Forces Labor To Consider Locking Brown People In Island Cages Again

Another 'shock' by-election result has slapped Australia's entrenched political landscape in the face this week.

With Western Australia's Secret Harbour being picked up by One Nation in a landslide over the weekend, the major parties are still desperately hoping the widespread disdain with their operations will just go away.

Labelled another 'protest vote,' the WA by-election follows the protest vote in the Federal Farrer by-election, and comes ahead of an upcoming protest vote in the Victorian State Election.

While the Coalition are keen to go harder to the 'right' in an attempt to out culture wars the new masters of the culture war, the Labor Party have been treating the protest vote like they do actual protests in modern Australia - by pretending the protestors are idiots and hoping the situation just goes away.

However, in a bombshell this week, the Federal government are now considering actually doing something to address the concerns of voters who are shaping up to vote for a party who have no policy other than cutting migration by an undisclosed amount, banning certain flags and cultural dresses of a couple of percent of the population, and vaguely talking about nuclear that won't be backed by a single person in the private sector unless pretty much entirely paid for by the tax payer.

While many would think it might be wise to consider some policy around regulating the supermarkets ability to price gouge, multinational resources companies ability to dodge tax and relentlessly spike the price of power, or having a conversation about migration being used as a tool for wage suppression and 'productivity growth' - it's believed Labor are keen to explore an easier sugar hit.

"Locking brown people in cages on islands off the coast of Australia," said one excited young Labor staffer with inside knowledge of cabinet conversations - who has grown up without ever having to actually consider the breadline and treats politics as a game.

"We obviously can't bring down migration numbers too much, and Pauline knows that as much as she pretends she doesn't."

"But we can do is engage in some public cruelty to make sure Aussies new and old have someone to focus their energy on, instead of populist politicians who are capitlising on their fears amidst a system that his hurtling towards an inequality to match the United States at a rapid rate."

"I hate to say it, but Howard did it perfectly. Talking about people throwing their children overboard while he astronomically raised migration numbers in the interest of the business class."
