Geelong Boilermaking Apprentice Told He Doesn't Have To Wear Welding Mask As Long As He Accepts Responsibility For Eye Sight

A young man with the overwhelming majority of his life ahead of him (hopefully) has today been told to let rip.

Bayley Cameron (20) who originally hails from our humble Betoota Heights district was told to throw care to the wind on his first day in a new job.

The 2nd year boilermaking apprentice who has recently relocated down to Geelong in Southern Victoria, said that he's been told he can pretty much do what he wants on the job.

"Yeah, they got me to sign a waiver saying I can do whatever I want, as long as they aren't legally responsible for anything," said Cameron.

"I can get pissed at work if I want hahaha."

"Or stoned!"

"How mad's that."

Cameron says he's also allowed to weld with out a mask or any form of protective gear if he wants.

"Dude pretty epic hey."

Cameron's rather unique, and highly illegal sounding workplace agreement follows in the revelation that the Geelong football club has been getting blokes to admit full legal responsibility for any concussions they get while playing for the club.

Namely, the club had illegally (not confirmed but highly likely) tried to contract out of their obligations in regards to a player who had suffered a history of concussion –and kept allowing them play, if the club was protected from future liabilities.

The extremely dodgy and morally corrupt agreement has been scrapped, but has raised the ire of fans who have spent years watching Geelong players miraculously end up with really nice parcels of land with nice houses on them in the greater Geelong area - or land some really nice third party deals that are quite below board.

It's unknown whether young apprentice Cameron will have his contract rescinded, but given his mum has got word of what's happening, it is believed to be highly likely.
