3 weeks after an aspiring film maker threw a slightly out of place wanna be edgy line into an eclectic and amusing film, the anti PC brigade are still fucking banging on about it.
Despite spending nearly a decade rinsing and repeating the same shit about woke culture, and the inability to say anything these days, the nation's noise merchants are making plenty of noise about someone saying something that offended them.
The skit in question, which is actually quite hard to find if you want to watch it (which means 1% of sweet fuck all would have actually watched the 4 minute film they are banging on about), is about disconnecting from the fast paced digital world and reconnecting with our roots.
It finishes with a weird and out of place comment about a revolution and turning Gina Rineheart into a sausage roll.
The piece of content was made by a young aspiring film maker as part of the ABC's Race Around the World series, with the line criticised by the judges on the show, including Leigh Sales who called it 'nasty.'
The objectively nasty comment about a billionaire who's family wanted to eradicate indigenous people from the country, and who is supported by people who regularly preach actual violence towards people has since drawn 3 weeks of headlines.
Amongst other things it has been labelled misogynistic, which is somewhat ironic given it was content made by someone who looks like they should be drinking matcha at a West End cafe and comes as the leader of the most popular party in Australia hires convicted rapists and only wants to take questions from convicted domestic violence abusers.
The ABC has apologised, and is facing pressure to take the piece of content down, with commercial media hacks gnashing their teeth over the opportunity to lay the boot into an organisation that overwhelmingly actually adheres to the principles of journalistic integrity and good morals.
It's unknown how much longer the whole thing will go for, but the general public is urging this fucking snowflakes to stop getting so offended, because they need to cope harder.
More to come.
