After 6 exciting weeks, the FIFA World Cup has run its course.
Spain has won the comp. Mbappe has won the Golden Boot. The Socceroos overachieved (arguably). And neutrals can go back to forgetting about soccer for a while.
The event captured global attention and managed to run relatively smoothly in Donald Trump's America - to the surprise of many, and annoyance of lefties who like chortling about things.
As a result of that stunning coup for the nation of America (on home soil and not in another sovereign nation this time around), FIFA has decided to award President Donald Trump a special gong.
In a touching ceremony after the presentation of the World Cup to Spain, FIFA boss Gianni Infantino has presented Trump with the 'Best President of The World Cup.'
It's the inaugural and only time the award has been presented, and is a sign of the special bond between the FIFA President and US President.
Reports inside FIFA had emerged earlier this week that Trump was a chance of winning the Golden Ball, for player of the tournament.
The party line inside the impressively corrupt FIFA organisation was that there would be no tournament without Trump, so he was in fact the most influential player on the tournament.
However, after the whole Balogun thing, it's believed they settled for a special new award to make the big fella feel appreciated.
It's hoped the new award will cheer Trump up, after the POTUS appeared rather grumpy for the entirety of the contest and didn't seem keen on smiling when presenting trophies to players from a nation he's had a few running tiffs with over the last couple of years.
