After numerous calls for transparency on what the liberal parties policies are, outside of just stoking culture wars, opposition leader Peter Dutton has now revealed that does actually have some plans on fixing the housing crisis – by cutting the nonsense ‘woke’ red tape and bringing asbestos back.

Before being banned, asbestos was used in over 3000 products, ranging from insulation and roofing to vehicle and boat parts. This was because it was both cheap to mine, and had highly insulative properties.

Despite health risk being known for decades, asbestos only started getting phased out in the 1980s before being banned completely in 2003.

Due to how small asbestos fibres are, repeated exposure to asbestos can lead to numerous health problems including mesothelioma, a cancer that is always deadly. Those who have had exposure to asbestos would likely take ten or more years to start experiencing the adverse effects.

However, Dutton has now proposed reintroducing asbestos into construction materials to curb housing costs, stating that there appears to be a lot of carrying on about ‘dust’, and that is Labor really cared about helping working class Australians, they’d stop making it so hard to get houses built quickly with all these ‘woke’ safety laws.

Dutton was also seen recently having lunch with the CEO of James Hardie, but says it has absolutely nothing to do with this new proposal.

More to come.
